Obituary — Corydon Dicks "Don" Hurtado

Corydon Dicks “Don” Hurtado of Mill Valley, Calif., died April 28, following a brief illness and hospitalization. He was 64.

Mr. Hurtado was born May 18, 1937, at Westerly, R.I. He spent his childhood in Pomona, Calif., and was a resident of Tahoe Paradise, Calif., from 1970 to 1983. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California, an MBA from the University of San Francisco and a Ph.D. in public administration from California Coast University. He served in the Naval ROTC and subsequently in the U.S. Army. He was an Eagle Scout.

Mr. Hurtado was self-employed for many years as a management consultant and litigation consultant in the field of data processing. He had a real estate broker’s license and, more recently, owned a wholesale credit reporting agency. He enjoyed skiing, handball and was an avid tennis player.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Hurtado of Mill Valley; mother, Elizabeth Hurtado of San Bernardino, Calif.; children, Kevin Hurtado of El Sobrante, Calif., Tracy Amaro of Oakland, Calif., and Sheri Hurtado of South Lake Tahoe. He will be missed by his loving family.

Mr. Hurtado was laid to rest at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
