Obituary: Donald Rutherdale

A private family gathering is planned for Donald Arthur “Pard” Rutherdale, who died of complications from lung cancer on Feb. 13, 2000, at his home in South Lake Tahoe. He was 62.

Mr. Rutherdale was born Oct. 12, 1937, at San Mateo, Calif., and had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe for the past eight years. He was a meat cutter for 35 years in UFCW Local No. 115 in the San Francisco Bay area. A member of Alcoholic Anonymous for eight years, he enjoyed oil painting and collected Indian artifacts and memorabilia.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Rutherdale of Pescadero, Calif.; sons, John Rutherdale of Campbell, Calif., and Mike Rutherdale of Pescadero, Calif.; daughter, Donna Southwell of Sunnyvale, Calif.; brothers, Bob and David Rutherdale of South Lake Tahoe; sister, Joan Wolfe of Ukiah, Calif., five grandchildren; and dogs, Albert, Minnie and Willie.
