Obituary: Frank Streeter Merrill

No services are planned for Frank Streeter Merrill who died Aug. 19, 2000 at South Lake Tahoe. He was 81.

Mr. Merrill was born Jan. 16, 1919, at Douglas, Ariz., to Thomas Frank and Maggie (LaFever) Merrill. He graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, Calif., in 1937, and served in the U.S. Army Signal Radio Corps from 1941 to 1945. He lived at Palo Alto, Calif., from 1931 to 1959, and had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe since 1959. A carpenter, Mr. Merrill was a partner in Scotty’s Hardware from 1969 to 1974 and retired in 1974. He was a member of Lake Tahoe Elks Lodge 2094 and SIRS, an organization for retired men. He loved golf and fishing.

Survivors include her wife of 58 years, Leona V. Merrill of South Lake Tahoe; daughter, Nina L. Major of South Lake Tahoe; and grandson, Eric C. Guthridge of North Hollywood, Calif.
