Obituary — Hazel Lorene Goodman

Funeral services will be July 20 for Hazel Lorene Goodman, who died July 14, 2002, at her home in South Lake Tahoe. She was 83.

Mrs. Goodman was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Oklahoma, and was an 18-year resident of South Lake Tahoe. She had worked for Transport Clearing at Los Angeles and was employed at WTC Air Freight at Torrance, Calif., from 1977 to 1984. She also worked for a short time for the Sahara Tahoe Credit Union at Tahoe. She was a member of the Western Teamsters conference, Locals No. 0063, No. 986 and No. 357-63.

Mrs. Goodman was an avid reader and held Bible study in her home. She volunteered at Sierra Community Church, where she worked on the food line, in the childrens nursery and as the flower lady. She also was a member of Barton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at the Attic and the gift shop.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Glenn Goodman of South Lake Tahoe; daughters, Darla Wells of Las Vegas and Shirley Lester of South Lake Tahoe; sister, Lattie C. Goodin of Pendleton, Ore.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great–great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. July 20 at Sierra Community Church, 1165 Sierra Blvd. Private interment will take place at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
