Obituary — James E. Miller

A family memorial service will take place at a later date at Berkeley, Calif., for James E. Miller, who died Aug. 1 at his home in South Lake Tahoe. He was 44.

Mr. Miller was born Aug. 16, 1957, at Oakland, Calif., and attended public schools in Berkeley. He attended Cabrillo Community College, Aptos, Calif., and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from University of California, Berkeley in 1981. In addition to working at Caesars Tahoe, he was continuing his graduate education at Lake Tahoe Community College. Nature, fishing, reading and computers were among his loves.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Miller, of San Jose, Calif.; son, Wilson Miller of San Jose; parents, Virginia Piper Miller and Ralph Miller of Berkeley; sister, Laurel, and close friend, Felix Locher of Kensington, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Phil of Oakland; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Mary of El Cerrito, Calif.; and 10 cousins in various parts of the country.



The family suggests that donations in Mr. Miller’s memory be made to The League to Save Lake Tahoe, 955 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA 95160-1032.

Arrangements are by McFarlane Mortuary.
