Obituary — Jerry Oldenkamp

No public services are planned for Jerry Oldenkamp, who died Aug. 23, 2003, at Barton Memorial Hospital of complications stemming from illness. He was 63.

Mr. Oldenkamp was born Oct. 5, 1938, at Detroit, Mich., to Harold and Elizabeth Oldenkamp. His mother was a housewife and his father a salesman. He later followed in his father’s footsteps as a successful sales manager. Mr. Oldenkamp was a resident of Irvine and San Ramon, Calif., for many years before retiring to South Lake Tahoe in 1985. He had run for City Council and enjoyed expressing his views in the Tahoe Daily Tribune. He had a strong love for animals and supported the SPCA. An avid bowler, he was the president of the association for several years in San Ramon.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Oldenkamp of Irvine; sons, Stephen Oldenkamp of Pleasanton, Calif., Kevin Brown of South Lake Tahoe and Keith Brown of Las Vegas, Nev., daughter, Christy Oldenkamp of Plano, Texas; and five grandchildren.

A private family gathering will take place on his birthday in early October and his ashes will be scattered at sea.
