Obituary- Joann Franklin

Private funeral services are being planned for Joann Franklin, who died May 4, 2001, at her home in Placerville, Calif. She was 70.

Mrs. Franklin was born July 31, 1930, at Hollywood, Calif., and had been a 27-year resident of El Dorado County, dividing her time between home at Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed raising her six children, gardening, reading and the outdoors. She was a member of the RV Club in Placerville and the South Tahoe Yacht Club.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Earl Franklin of Placerville and South Lake Tahoe; sons, Guy Franklin of Sacramento, Calif., David Franklin of San Rafael, Calif., and Craig Franklin of Novato, Calif.; daughters, Diana Edmunson of Malaga, Spain, Taire Hudson of Hudson, Fla., and Candi Anderson of Ellicott City, Md.; cousin, Sona Ahrens of San Diego; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at Happy Homestead Cemetery.

The family requests any donations in Mrs. Franklin’s memory be made to Crippled Childrens Major Project Fund, c/o South Tahoe Elks Lodge 2094, P.O. Box 2094, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96156.
