Obituary: John K. "Hoj" Petereson

No services are planned for John K. “Hoj” Petersen, who died Jan. 15, 2000, while visiting friends in the Garberville, Calif. area. He was 53.

Mr. Peterson was born Dec. 5, 1946, in the Naval Hospital at San Diego, Calif. He was raised in Coronado, Calif., and the San Francisco Bay area and traveled extensively, spending several years at South Lake Tahoe. A carpenter by trade, he had been a member of Carpenters Union Local No. 1789. He enjoyed music and off-road motorcycling with the High Sierra Motorcycle Club. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Josephine Ornelas Mize of Ajo, Ariz.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Monica and Dan Porter of South Lake Tahoe and Andrea and Max Goforth of Williams, Ore.; and nieces, Dani Porter-Fox and Mailia Goforth.



Cards, letters and fond memories to be shared with the family may be sent to Mr. Peterson’s mother, Jo Mize, 1805 N. Berry Road, Ajo, Ariz. 85321. She also may be telephoned at (520) 387-3150.

Arrangements will be handled through Douglas Funeral Home in Ajo.
