OBITUARY: Kurt Gasser

1948-2012 KURT GASSER was born to Jean and Ruth Gasser on December 9, 1948 in Switzerland. Kurt passed away on March 3, 2012 in Cusco, Peru.

A longtime resident of South Lake Tahoe and world renowned Pastry Chef, Kurt was an avid skier, known by everyone as a wonderful man with a happy soul who could light up a room with his laughter. His family and longtime friends: Paul Bachinger, Carol Ward, Sean Ward, Dawn Ward, Chelsea Franza and all others that have him in their thoughts, will miss him dearly.

Kurt was employed at Stanford Camp, Fallen Leaf Lake as their Pastry Chef. Some would call him the best cakemaker ever … his pastries brought us great joy.

Kurt is survived by his sister Nelly Odiet, Courroux, Switzerland; niece Elodie Comment; and nephew Olivier Odiet.
