Memorial services will take place April 26 for Lowell Duane Riley, who died April 19, 2004, at Barton Memorial Hospital. He was 65.

Lowell was born April 18, 1939, at Hillsborough, N.C., and had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe since 1968. He was a U.S. Marshall for 10 years before his retirement. He was a member of the South Shore Christian Assembly and was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Lowell is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Riley of South Lake Tahoe; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Donald Strauss of South Lake Tahoe and Melissa and John Kane of Reno, Nev.; brothers, Frederick Riley of Modesto, Calif., Wayne Riley of Stockton, Calif., and Max Allen of Tracy, Calif.; sisters, Brenda Bohmene and Janice Allen, both of Modesto; half-brothers, Harris Monroe of Texas and Timothy Monroe of Manteca, Calif.; half-sisters, Georgeann Van Nieuwenhyzen of Ripon, Calif., and Katherine Monroe of Durham, N.C.; grandchildren, Melinda, Jessica and Allen Haflick and Nicole, Lena and Kanet Gervase; and great-grandson, Cage Gaylord.

Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. April 26 at South Shore Christian Assembly, 866 Glorene Ave.
