Obituary — Marcus B. Martin

Memorial services will take place July 24 for Marcus B. Martin, who died peacefully July 18, 2002, at his South Lake Tahoe home. He was 76.

Mr. Martin was born June 25, 1926, in Missouri, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Abercrombie and he spent many years working in the shopping cart maintenance business in Southern California. After retiring in 1979, Mr. Martin moved to Lake Tahoe, where he made many friends and enjoyed real estate investing. He also enjoyed gardening, was an Elvis Presley fan and collected old records. He spent many hours with his dog, Blondie, and was concerned about people who had animals and couldn’t afford to care for them.

He is survived by many friends, especially Georgia O’Connor and her daughters, Star and Tiffany of South Lake Tahoe. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marlene Williams.

Memorial services will begin at 4 p.m. July 24 at McFarlane Mortuary Chapel.

Donations in Mr. Martin’s memory may be made to the Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A.
