John H. McClow

A funeral for John H. McClow Jr., 76, a Carson City resident for the past 16 years, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. McClow died Feb. 11, 2001, in Carson City. He was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Philadelphia, Pa., to John H. and Avis Fitzgerald McClow.



Before moving to Carson City, he lived in California.

Mr. McClow was a mechanical engineer for the aerospace industry and retired in 1984. He enjoyed target shooting, gardening and painting. He was an avid craftsman who enjoyed crafting knives. He also enjoyed sailing and scuba diving. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Carson City.



Among his survivors are his wife of 50 years, Joyce, of Carson City; sons John III of Vista, Calif., and Jay of Simi, Calif.; daughter June James of Carson City and six grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1281 Terminal Way No. 111, Reno 89502.

Walton’s Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
