Obituary- Nancy Ann Steinberg

Nancy Ann Steinberg passed away on Oct. 9, 2001 in Alturas, Calif. while on a trip to visit her family. She was 72.

Mrs. Steinberg was born in New York, NY on April 18, 1929 and was a resident of Lake Tahoe. Her family has had a home here since 1974 and when she retired in 1992, she and her husband, Philip Steinberg, moved here permanently from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Mrs. Steinberg was active in and past president of the Women’s Propeller Club, San Francisco Chapter and the World Trade Club of San Francisco. She was a great cook, whose specialty was Italian food. She was known for the chocolate mold figures she made for holidays. She was also extremely good at knitting.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Philip Steinberg of South Lake Tahoe, her son Ken Steinberg and his wife Jean of Bend, Ore., her daughters Cathy Steinberg of Portland, Ore. and Anne Steinberg of South Lake Tahoe, her sister Trudy Brewer of Long Island, N. Y., and her grandchildren Nikolas and Alexis Steinberg.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 15 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Interment will be a Happy Homestead Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday Oct. 14 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the McFarland Mortuary Chapel at 887 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe.
