Obituary- Nina Jo Brown

Memorial services are pending for Nina Jo Brown, who died Aug. 28 at her home in South Lake Tahoe. She was 68.

Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 17, 1932, at St. Joseph, Mo. A lifelong resident of Elk Grove, Calif., she had lived at South Lake Tahoe for the past six years. Her interests in life were family, friends and anything that had fur or feathers. She had a great passion for Keno machines, which she enjoyed playing with her friends Claire and Jackie. She will be most fondly remembered for her sense of humor and infectious laugh. She will be missed by her family, friends, neighbors and Lakeside Inn & Casino employees, who were all so supportive during this difficult time, along with the staff from Barton Home Care and Hospice.

Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Brown of South Lake Tahoe; daughter and best friend, Cheryl Brown of South Lake Tahoe; daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Roger Burt of Corinne, Utah; sister and brother-in-law, Gay and Tom McLaughlin of Glendora, Calif.; grandchildren, Cindy Hunsaker and Jim Burt and five great-grandchildren, all of Utah; and relatives Butch and Loy Price, Lynne and Jack Budke and Delpha Herpst.



In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Barton Home Care and Hospice, 2092 Lake Tahoe Blvd., Suite 500, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.

California lifts virus stay home orders, curfew statewide

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lifted regional stay-at-home orders across the state Monday in response to improving coronavirus conditions, returning the state to a system of county-by-county restrictions, state health officials announced.
