Obituary: Pat "Grandma" Matteucci

A celebration of life will take place in the spring for Pat “Grandma” Matteucci, who died March 11, 2001, at her South Lake Tahoe home, surrounded by friends and family. She was 69.

Mrs. Matteucci was born July 7, 1931, at Kilgore, Texas. She had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe for more than 40 years. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but the past 10 years she had worked at Harrah’s Tahoe, where she loved her work and friends. She took great pride in whatever she did. Mrs. Matteucci devoted her life to people as a friend, mother and grandmother. She had a gift for seeing the best in people.

Survivors include her sons, Gene Matteucci of South Lake Tahoe and Jace Matteucci of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter, Joni Bower of Gardnerville, Nev.; sister, Gayle Hernandez of Ione, Calif.; and grandchildren, Katie Gerard, Ryan Bower, Rose Matteucci, Geno Matteucci; Aaron Matteucci and Noah Matteucci. She was predeceased by her son, Jim Matteucci.

No memorial service is planned. Friends and family will gather in the spring to celebrate her life in the mountains she loved so much.

Donations in her memory may be made to Barton Memorial Hospital Hospice of the Lake, 2092 Lake Tahoe Blvd., No. 500, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
