Patricia A. Long, 81, died on May 21, 2011, at her home with family, and her beloved dog, Maggie, by her side in South Lake Tahoe, CA. She was born on May 11, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio. She moved to the South Lake Tahoe area in 1964 where she raised her three children, Doug, Tom and Gayle, as well as her grandchildren, Shannon and Dustin.

Her life was filled with family, baseball, knitting, and reading. Patty was an entrepreneur and was the proud owner of “For Baskets Too.” She had great love for her crafts, baskets, and her dogs. Patty devoted much of her time and energy to the well-being of her family and prided herself on the success of her children and grandchildren.

Her oldest son, Doug Maselli; her five grandchildren, Shannon and Dustin Singler, Camille Corder, Lauren Urbina, Sara Moretti, and her ten great grandchildren survive Patricia.

Patty was a 47 year resident of South Lake Tahoe, and was active in Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe. She worked as a Medical Assistant for more than 40 years.

Patty leaves behind a very long family legacy, and will always be remembered for her strength, and her devout loyalty to her family – especially her grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Happy Homestead Cemetery on Saturday, May 28 at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends are encouraged to attend as a show of support.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Patty’s name to the Lake Tahoe Humane Society; PO Box PET, South Lake Tahoe, CA. 96158. An after service gathering will take place at the home of Mrs. Long to celebrate her life.
