Obituary — Phyllis Winlund

Celebration of life memorial services will take place Jan. 12 for Phyllis Winlund, who died Dec. 12, 2002, due to complications from a stoke. She was 59.

She was born June 1, 1943, at Charleston, W.Va. to Robert Clay and Marie Smith. She was a resident of Chicago more than 20 years before moving to the South Lake Tahoe area in 1985. She loved her work as an executive host at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, always arriving at least an hour early for work and often staying late.

Survivors include her daughter, Renea Hatcher of San Francisco, Calif., daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Gus Chin of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Clay; six nephews and their wives; and 10 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Memorial services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 12 at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Special Events Center.
