Obituary- Raymond Francis Monia

Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 22 for Raymond Francis Monia, who died Sept. 18, 2001, at his home in Dayton, Nev. He was 78.

Mr. Monia was born March 11, 1923, in Nebraska to Godfried Monia and Julia Stutsman. He served in the U.S. Navy as a tail gunner in World War II and married Elaine Joseph Feb. . 23, 1943, in Reno, Nev. Mr. Monia had been a builder in the construction industry and had lived in Dayton and South Lake Tahoe for approximately 40 years, coming from Oakland, Calif. He was active with the Dayton Senior Citizen Center and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton.

Survivors include his daughter, Robert Fierro of Dayton; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.



Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 22 at Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton.

Arrangements are by FitzHenry’s Funeral Home in Carson City.
