Obituary- Robert ‘Bob’ Gaylord Heitger

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 27 for Robert “Bob” Gaylord Heitger, who died Sept. 21, 2001, at his home in South Lake Tahoe. He was 56.

Mr. Heitger was born Oct. 11, 1944, in Pennsylvania and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had been an 18-year resident of South Lake Tahoe, where he was the owner of J&J Pizza. He was a sponsor of the Quarterback Club and Little League. Mr. Heitger touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his employees who were a part of his family.

Survivors include his sons, John Heitger and Jason Heitger of South Lake Tahoe; brothers, Frank Heitger of South Lake Tahoe and Gerald Heitger of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Debbie Heitger of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews; and partner Laura Hammerton of South Lake Tahoe. He was predeceased by his father, Franklin Gerald Heitger, mother, Helen Virginia Swager Todd, and brother, Keith Elmer Heitger.



Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 27, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. at McFarlane Mortuary Chapel, 887 Emerald Bay Road.
