Obituary- Tammy Kay Shay

A memorial service will take place Aug. 29 for Tammy Kay Shay, who died Aug. 16, 2001, at her South Lake Tahoe home. She was 41.

She was born April 6, 1960, at Waco, Texas, to Grant and Florence Wilson. At the age of 6 months she moved with her family to South Lake Tahoe, where she was raised. After graduating from high school she became a model. She was married once, but had no children. She resided at Reseda, Calif., and worked at Cosco for a number of years until a rare disease called vascularitis rendered her incapable of using her hands. She moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1995, where she owned #1 Taxi until 1999.

She had a strong-willed spirit and was generous, loving and nurturing to those she loved. A devoted loyal friend, she was beautiful inside and out with a contagious laugh even though she was in excruciating pain constantly.

Survivors include her brother, Rodney Wilson of Southern California; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Brian Brannock of Harker Heights, Texas; nephews, Cody Ryan Wilson and Justin James Brannock; niece, Sarah Jade Wilson; and the love of her life, Alfred E. Pedigo, with whom she resided until her untimely death.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at McFarlane Mortuary, 887 Emerald Bay Road.
