Obituary- Thomas Joseph Covault

Memorial services took place Oct. 1 for Thomas Joseph Covault, who died Sept. 26, 2001, at Washoe Medical Center, Reno, NV. He was 59.

Mr. Covault graduated from Piqua High School, Piqua, Ohio, before going on to receive a bachelor of education degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He earned a master’s degree in school administration from Miami University and a Ph.D. in educational research, planning and development from Ohio State University. Over his lifetime in education Mr. Covault was a high school teacher in Hamilton, OHio; headmaster of the American School of Las Palmas, Grand Canary Island; human relations director in the San Jose Unified School School. For the past 20 years he served Douglas County School District in Nevada as assistant superintendent and also as principal of Kingsbury Middle School in Zephyr Cove. He retired in the spring of 2000.

Memorial services took place Oct. 1 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mr. Covault’s memory be made to the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
