Obituary: Vincent Leon Jacobs

Private Interment was Aug. 12 for Vincent Leon Jacobs, who died July 25, 2000, at his home in South Lake Tahoe. He was 71.

Mr. Jacobs was born July 7, 1949, at Corvallis, Ore. A graduate of Big Valley High School, Bieber, Calif., he was employed by the USDA Forest Service until a disability forced his retirement about 15 years ago. He was interested in history, especially WWII, and in literary works. He was a great reader, loved nature, and was particularly interested in fire protection. He served as a Forest Service lookout for many years.

Although he never married, he was especially fond of his nieces and nephews. Survivors include his sister, Terry Beck of Standish, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Lori Jacobs of Rock Springs, Wyo., nephews Andrew and Jon Beck of Standish and Rod Jacobs of Rock Springs and nieces Rachelle Beck of Standish and Tracy and Becky Jacobs of Rock Springs.



Donations may be made in Mr. Jacobs’ name to the WWII Memorial, the American Diabetes Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Private interment was Aug. 12, 2000, at Hillside Cemetery, Nubieber, Calif.
