Obituary: Wallace Brooks Park

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 31, for Wallace Brooks Park, who died Jan. 27, 2000, at Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, Nev. He was 87.

Mr. Park was born Aug. 31, 1912, at San Francisco, Calif., to Wallace Park and Margaret (Hickey) Park. He was a lifelong resident of Gardnerville and Stateline, Nev. Mr. Park was a rancher and president of Park Cattle Company as well as developer of Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. He loved ranching and golf and enjoyed participating in activities at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. He was a great father and a wonderful husband.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Park of Gardnerville; son, Bruce Park of Minden, Nev.; daughters, Jeanne Blach of Elko, Nev., and Kay Seelinger of Reno, Nev.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Park Pruett and Mildred Lourdeaux.



A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. Interment will follow at Mottsville Cemetery in Minden.

Donations in Mr. Park’s memory may be made to St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, Nev. 89410.




Arrangements are by Walton’s Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
