Office Depot donates to the Boys & Girls Club

With back-to-school season fast approaching Office Depot, Inc., has announced a new outreach program to provide more than 50,000 underprivileged school children with a new backpack and school supplies necessary to get the school year off to a successful start.

Eric Sterchi, manager of the South Lake Tahoe store, is participating in the program and will donate 30 backpacks and supplies to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe at the end of August.

During August each of the company’s 829 retail stores in the U.S. and Canada will donate backpacks and basic school supplies including pens, pencils and glue sticks to underprivileged schools and nonprofit organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of America, Junior Achievement and United Way. Schools and organization will then distribute the backpacks to children.
