An autograph signing by South Shore Olympic gold medalist Maddie Bowman will be one highlight of an event at Sierra-at-Tahoe this weekend.

Sierra will host Bowman as part of Subaru Conquer Winter Day on Saturday, Jan. 9.

Bowman is a 21-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident who took home the gold medal in women’s ski halfpipe in Sochi, Russia, during the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. She will be signing autographs from 9-11 a.m. Saturday.

“This is a unique opportunity for guests and inspired young adults to meet a professional athlete who represents the heart and soul of this mountain,” said John Rice, general manager of Sierra-at-Tahoe, in a press release for the event. “Maddie grew up here, progressed through our programs and now exemplifies not only a world-class skier, but an outstanding role model for young skiers and riders.”

Subaru Conquer Winter Day is open to guests of all ages and will be staged on Sierra’s Solstice Plaza, a 30,000-square-foot sun deck at the base of the resort. Subaru will have giveaways, and guests can win a chance to have lunch and ski with Bowman on the day of the event.

Sierra-at-Tahoe is located west of the Lake Tahoe Basin at 1111 Sierra-at-Tahoe Road in Twin Bridges.
