On the One to visit Rojo’s

Lake Tahoe Action

If funk rock is your thing, or if you simply enjoy great, high energy music, stop by Rojo’s Tavern at South Shore and Check out On the One on Friday, July 6. The San Diego products join Greyboy All-Stars, Giant People, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Nickel Creek as notable bands from that city.

Drummer John Staten (Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Giant People) teamed with long time friend and sax aficionado Jesse Molloy (Giant People) to create On the One, which has logged more than 400 shows nationwide. Guitarist Aaron Bleiweiss (Starshak), and bassist Andy Irvine (Giant People, Beanstalk), round out the funky soul jazz rock quartet.

Referred by many of today’s top musicians as one of the best drummers in the business, Staten drives On the One with hard-hitting hip-hop beats. Along with a never ending swank of saxophone and groove aligned bass, this raw blend of improvisational soul jazz and high energy floor shaking funk unites all generations of music lovers.
