A woman’s body was found Sunday afternoon in a culvert north of the Salmon Falls Bridge on the West Slope in El Dorado County, authorities said.

The unidentified white female is believed to be in her late 30s to early 40s, said Bryan Golmitz, public information officer for the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call around 12:30 p.m. Sunday from an individual who observed the victim’s body off the side of the road, Golmitz said.

Detectives are following all leads to locate the suspect or suspects, he said.
