One-night-only Triple Threat performance features Gilby Clarke of Guns N’ Roses
If you go ...
What: Triple Threat
When: Saturday, Dec. 23, 7:30 p.m.
Where: Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Fans of rock and country music won’t want to miss the one-night-only event (known as Triple Threat) that takes over Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Saturday, Dec. 23.
The gig, which features blues-rock artist Jared James Nichols, Bay Area-born country musician Mark Mackay and Gilby Clarke of Guns N’ Roses, begins at 7:30 p.m. and celebrates guitarists who specialize in a mix of genres.
Nichols began playing the instrument at the age of 14, and by the time he turned 21 he’d already played over 500 gigs. According to Nichols’ Facebook biography, the blues came naturally to him.
“The Wisconsin-born, Los Angeles-based singer, writer and guitarist’s new EP ‘Old Glory & The Wild Revival’ channels blues grit and gusto through bombastic arena-size rock ‘n’ roll. It’s raw, raucous and righteously real,” continues the bio.
Like Nichols, Mackay began performing at a young age.
“A blazing guitarist, an evocative vocalist and a songwriter steeped in authenticity: At the crossroads of country music and rock and roll is where Mark Mackay makes his stand,” states his online biography.
Clarke broke onto the scene at 17 years old, but is best known for his three-year stint as the rhythm guitarist of Guns N’ Roses during the early ‘90s.
“What you should know is this: Gilby Clarke understands rock ‘n’ roll; hell, his heart bumps the s#$@,” states his online bio.
Catch the three musicians in the Stateline venue’s Vinyl room. Tickets are available via the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino website for $25, and a $75 VIP option also is available.
