Operation School Bell helps students in need

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Assistance League of Sierra Foothills brought Operation School Bell to 145 South Tahoe Middle School students in need last week. The philanthropic program helped the students get $20,000 of new clothing.

Students and their parents or guardians were allowed to go shopping for the items at K-Mart on Oct. 15. K-Mart offered an extra $10 for each student.

“This has been the most rewarding event for us ever,” said chairman of Operation School Bell Harriet Knops.
