Editorial: The Tribune’s New Year’s resolution
It’s no secret 2009 was a difficult year, and it’s less of a secret that the Tahoe Daily Tribune was affected by the suffering economy like every other business.
Our readers saw layoffs, smaller editions and a change in leadership.
As a result, community members have continued to ask about how long the Tribune will continue printing and how often we’ll print each week.
Let’s clear the air on those two points:
1) How long will we continue printing? As long as our readership and advertising demands it.
2) When will we publish? We publish Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and plan to do so through 2010 and beyond. Of course, you can find up to date news daily at http://www.tahoedailytribune.com. Our online presence will continue to grow in importance as our online readership grows.
It’s a new year, and with a new year comes resolutions. Here’s ours:
We promise to be leaders in the South Shore community. Expect to see us at meetings, luncheons, writing in coffee shops or shopping locally. Expect stories that examine the issues affecting our community. Expect editorials that hold other community leaders accountable.
We thank our readers, advertisers and contributors for supporting us through a difficult 2009, and pushing us to improve in all facets in 2010. We wish everyone a happy, safe and successful new year … and please keep the questions coming.
