It’s time to move forward with the Chateau project

Owens Financial has committed to support the continuation of the revitalization that has begun at South Shore. We wish to build on the momentum that was started with public and private partnerships, and to complete developments that will appeal to visitors and locals alike.

New attractions, attractive properties and upgrades to community parks/beaches are transforming the face of South Lake Tahoe. Owens has made a significant investment in The Chateau project and is ready to begin construction. This initial phase will demonstrate movement and bring new economic vitality to South Lake Tahoe and will be a positive step to attract additional investment to the area.

We are sensitive to history of this project, and we believe it is time to move the project forward and to begin the construction. We want to replace the hole along Highway 50 with a center of commerce contributing economically to the success of the area.

The first construction phase will include installation of adequate sidewalks along South Lake Tahoe Blvd. The buildings will provide an attractive frontage with retail and dining components complementing the already popular Heavenly Village. We have a proposal before the South Lake Tahoe City Council to begin construction this summer with completion planned for summer 2014.

This is the right time to move this project forward.
