Kudos & Kindness: Lake Tahoe Humane Society says thank you

Lake Tahoe Humane Society wishes to thank Rosemary Wood, owner of Pacific Crest Gallery, for sponsoring and hosting the “Art for Animals” art show held on Saturday May 14. Photography exhibited by our local South Tahoe High School’s talented artists were up for auction and displayed at the gallery for two days. This is the second annual show of creative and talented work by local students, with half of the proceeds going back to the student in the form of a scholarship and half supporting the Humane Society’s goals of educational outreach to the local schools. All the prints were auctioned off this year and will be featured in our next year’s Art for Animals calendar. The 2017 calendar is marking the Humane Society’s 50th year as a local nonprofit organization dedicated to the people and pets of the Lake Tahoe area.

We would also like to express our thanks to Candy Lincoln, the high school art teacher, for her work in making this year’s art show a total success.

Canvas reproductions are still available for purchase by stopping by the Humane Society office at 884 Emerald Bay Road. All the students’ work was beautiful this year, and deciding on the five winners was very difficult.

Thank you, Rosemary, for your continued support; and to all that purchased the artwork, we thank you as well.
