Kudos & Kindness: South Lake Tahoe Cancer League says thank you

South Lake Tahoe Cancer League would like to thank The Cantina Bar & Grill for opening its doors on Feb. 25 for our monthly Cancer League General Luncheon Meeting. Dianne Johnson, of the Historical Society, came in character and told the story of Charlie Parkhurst’s life in Tahoe’s wild past.

Then on Saturday, March 12, South Lake Tahoe Cancer League participated in the seventh annual Sandy Campbell Bowling Tournament at Tahoe Bowl. This moving, but also fun-filled, event is hosted by Willie Campbell to honor the memory of his wife, Sandy, who died of cancer. JoAnn Conner and Jackie Lynch represented the Cancer League and both expressed that it was an honor to attend. Altogether the event raised $1,325 for the Cancer League.

We are thankful that we have generous and thoughtful people in our community — 100 percent of this donation will go directly to cancer patients to help them pay medical or household bills.

We also want to thank Jason from Tahoe Bowl for his hospitality, and we look forward to the eighth annual Sandy Campbell Bowling Tournament next year. We invite everyone who would like to enter the tournament to give us a call at 530-573-1703.
