Kudos & Kindness: South Lake Tahoe Cancer League says thank you

The South Lake Tahoe Cancer League would like to express thanks to all those who made this year’s Sees’ Candy Store a success.

First, thanks to our many volunteers who served as salespeople. The store was open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for six weeks! That called for many volunteers. Many were Cancer League members, but some were not.

Second, we’d like to thank the vendors who allowed us to place our candy in their business places. These were Angel Touch Salon, Champion Floors To Go, David W. Olivo, CPA, Emerald Bay Salon, Flight Deck Restaurant and Bar, Lakeside Inn, Moose Lodge #1632, Nails by Lillian, Nel’s Hardware, Rio Nails & Spa, Scotty’s Hardware, Sessions, South Y Fireplace, and Studio “6” Hair Design. Thank you also to Welcome Home, which donated two gorgeous trees and lots of new decorations to our store. It looked particularly beautiful this year!

Finally, thanks to all those residents and visitors who bought candy. All proceeds from the sales go directly to cancer patients who are under treatment and live on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe.

The South Lake Tahoe Cancer League is 100 percent volunteers. We transport patients to cancer treatment and offer limited financial grants. We meet on the last Thursday of each month and welcome all to our meetings.
