Kudos & Kindness: South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue says thank you to coat drive participants

I wanted to send a note to say thank you to the community of South Lake Tahoe. I am inspired by the generosity and compassion displayed with all the coats donated at our fire stations. We received a variety, from toddler-sized to adult (great for teenagers). We also received care packages with brand new beanies, gloves and snacks. The community of South Lake Tahoe has incredible heart, which really shines when a need is identified.

The South Lake Tahoe Kiwanis has done tremendous work in providing coats to children in need in our community and also has provided some great direction and assistance in establishing our program. They are truly an asset to our community and make a real difference.

South Lake Tahoe Fire is extremely grateful for the opportunity to help those in need in this way. It hopes to carry on this program as an annual tradition. Donations be distributed through Choices for Children for preschool-aged children, Tahoe Youth and Family Services for teenagers and Child Protective Services for school-aged children.

If anyone is interested in donating a coat, we are still receiving donations through Jan. 27 at any of our three fire stations within the city. Every donation helps a youth in our community!
