Kudos & Kindness: Thank you to the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe

The Sugar Pine Foundation sends a sincere thank you to the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe for its generous support of our Angora Fire planting event. This planting event was part of an educational field trip for the South Tahoe Middle School sixth-grade classes in conjunction with the South Tahoe Environmental Education Coalition. On Oct. 26-27, 240 students and volunteers learned about drought, erosion and fire within the forest ecosystem and learned about proper planting techniques, forest health and composition. Over the two-day period 300 new trees were planted in the Angora Fire scar area, helping to restore the scenic beauty of the area and reducing future fire danger.

Thank you again to the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe for being a steward of our forest lands, friend of the community and supporter of The Sugar Pine Foundation.
