Kudos & kindness: ‘Vintage cooking’ is fun and educational

The clients and staff at Choices Day Program-South Lake Tahoe want to thank the U.S. Forest Service and, especially, Pam and Jim for a fun-filled historical experience in the Pope Estate kitchen.

Baking cookies the way it was done in the “good ole days” proved to be quite a kick from the past. We measured and mixed scattering flour about as we tried our hand at baking from scratch.

Pam added to our experience as she shared a slice of authentic life from the colorful, roaring 1920s. Of course, we ate the cookies and had the pleasure of more fascinating facts from Pam and Jim, who volunteer their time every summer to make this a rewarding afternoon.
