Letter — Carrier goes extra mile

During this last Tahoe snowstorm, where it took me two hours just to get from our home off of North Upper Truckee to my work at Stateline on an almost daily basis for a week, your staff efforts far exceeded my expectations.

Steve Ansen came through deep unplowed roads through the dark of night to find unmarked driveways and deliver our paper. And, to beat all, this was done every morning before 7 a.m. — an amazing feat! Here is an employee who takes pride in his work, and honors his obligations in the toughest of times. I hope we get to keep him as our carrier for a long time! I also admire and appreciate your staff work in publishing a paper every day during this time, including Christmas! Please pass this on to Paul Middlebrook and the circulation manager.

As a tourist-based community, I admire the tenacity of our residents. Every time I went into a store, post office, grocery, I thanked the clerks/staff for being there for us and our visitors. Tahoe kept truckin’ even though Caltrans and our illustrious county roads supervisor totally let us down. But, that’s another story!
