Letter — Cavalier attitude about transportation

Tribune

The city parking garage snafu is but one blotch in a rapidly expanding oil stain. This comes right back to lack of transportation planning for the past 20-plus years. If there were viable alternatives to using our automobiles as mandated in the TRPA charter, WE WOULD USE THEM!E For Mr. Lew Feldman or anyone else to suggest that paid parking is punishment for ourE “not giving up cars” is cavalier at best and arrogant at worst. He and the developers he represents should be taking the lead in transportation planning, not taking cheap shots at the rest of the community. Try riding a bike to work Mr. Feldman and you’ll either end up risking your life on Highway 50 or risking a crash from loose debris on the “alternative routes” and injuring yourself as I recently did. Now I’m facing surgery and forced to use my car to commute again. This whole situation is due to lack of adequate alternatives and you are part of the problem! Be a mench and be part of the solution instead!
