Letter — Cyclists constantly put life in danger

After several letters about bicyclists, I might explain to the general public about road bikes. These hybrids are unsafe on average bike trails. We travel at 30 plus mph. It would be careless riding these speeds on city trails. Yet no matter how far to the right you are

people still won’t yield for cyclists even if you are beyond the “fog line” on the side of the road. The other day I hit 64 mph down Luther Pass and still several cars, and trucks honking their horns at me at that speed! It’s obvious were living in different times now as fellow man would rather spit on you than yield common courtesy. I have the responsibility to obey all traffic laws and you have the responsibility to share the roadway with cyclists. When you see spandex and logos this isn’t your average Joe. This is an athlete dedicated to his health and his sport. Respect that!

Thank god your brakes did work, Karen, or perhaps someone might own you, per month, for the rest of your life.
