Letter: Give a card for Veterans Day
As a vet (1961-1965) I have two suggestions to help our veterans who truly deserve our concern and care.
First, every career and combat vet should receive a medical card so that they can go to any doctor or hospital to get the care and treatment that they need and deserve.
Secondly, parades are wonderful and the many speeches tell how much we appreciate and love our vets; and then a year later we listen to the same speeches without hardly any progress. I suggest that we make Veterans Day Cards (yes, they do exist) more popular than Valentine’s Day cards or Christmas cards. If it were not for our vets, there would be no Valentines Day and Christmas. We might be singing all our songs in German!
