Letter: Liberals aim to ‘manage the herd’

Steven Fox’s reply to Jim Clark’s column is not about health insurance, but his chance to denigrate half of the population that doesn’t think like him. Having been self employed for over 30 years, I was able to budget for important things like the health insurance of my choice. He apparently likes to have the government force him to buy insurance. He says he is not a freeloader, but who is paying for the subsidies that pay for part of his Obamacare? Oh yeah, probably the evil rich people who invest in the companies that employ half of the work force. Actually as the current administration has admitted, if young working people don’t buy insurance that they don’t want or need Obamacare won’t work.

He should stop putting his words into other people¹s mouths. He knows nothing about Republicans’ thoughts, so trying to stereotype them with his liberal twaddle is offensive at best. My stereotyping of liberals would be, I can’t make decisions for myself so I want the government to tell me what to do. Manage the herd is the liberal politician¹s modus operandi!
