To the editor:

I am sure that Patricia Timmens and Dennis Crabb read something worthwhile now and then, but they certainly hide that well in their contributions to your column, “Have you read?” With all the good fiction written by Updike, Roth, Proulx, DeLillo, Millhauser, etc. and the many excellent nonfiction works on history, science, economics, biography and adventure, one wonders how they can miss so much.
