Letter — New city manager says hello

Terri and I are thrilled with the chance to live and work in South Lake Tahoe. We are excited about the prospects of meeting new friends and becoming part of the community.

I appreciate and value the opportunity afforded to me by the South Lake Tahoe City Council to be the new city manager. I have pledged to the City Council, and I pledge to the community, to work for honest, open, efficient, effective and accountable local government. My first and foremost concerns are to work with the City Council, city staff, residents, business owners and operators, and our fine community organizations to build a financially viable city organization, encourage clean and responsible economic growth, and protect our precious environment.

South Lake Tahoe faces challenges. I am confident that by respecting each other and differing views that may exist and by working together, we can and will be successful in meeting these challenges and turning them into opportunities that better our community.
