Letter- Setting the record straight

To the editor:

In reference to Ted Long’s letter; you obviously misunderstood the intentions of my letter last week. I used the word “greed” as a noun in my letter, not an adjective. You unfairly pointed your finger and verbally labeled me and Janelle Smith “namecallers.” Nowhere in my letter did I mention a $1,000 figure or call anyone a greedy monger. Next time you want to point a finger, look at how many are pointing back at yourself.

Janelle Smith’s letter of May 16 was clear and to the point, as was Claire Fortier’s column. Thank you, Janelle and Claire, for speaking from your hearts. The working poor in this community need a voice. And both of you, in my opinion, did an excellent job.
