Letter — Smart answer to dumb and ‘Dubya’

In reference to Frank Smiths article titled “Prefers smart U. S. president.”

It is certainly predictable that non-Republicans are usually suggesting that Republican presidents are intellectually challenged. There were suggestions made in the past that maybe “Ike” was not “intellectual” or that Reagan was “not exactly a Rhodes Scholar,” and now, thanks to Mr. Smiths world respected research source, the National Enquirer, G. W. Bush has a low I. Q.

Well, let’s not use the great Enquirer as a source, but let’s look at history. Eisenhower lead the U. S. and its Allies to victory in WWII.

Reagan lead the U. S. to victory in the cold war against Communism. Sounds to me G. W. is in pretty good company. Hopefully heis challenged enough to lead the U. S. to victory over terrorism.

Now, speaking of smart Presidents, Clinton was one of the brightest and also a Rhoads Scholar. He was, however, also challenged, morally challenged, along with a very low “I. Q.” in better judgment.

Well, I guess you can’t have everything. Hang in there G. W.
