Kris Long, South Lake Tahoe

Mudslinging? Slander? This must sell newspapers! The truth about “consultant” Kevin Reikes, coming from a volunteer for Larry Hennick for Sheriff: our volunteer committees pushed Sgt. Hennick to get rid of Reikes for not doing the job that he was highly paid for. Reikes held us back in our passion for this campaign to elect Hennick for Sheriff. He was late on projects, did not return calls or messages, was not available to volunteers for advice, suggestions or assistance, and insisted on handling projects such as printing because he made a portion of the revenues. So, he slanders a man of integrity, drive and desire. And then the opponent “leaks” this to the newspaper (you know- the candidate who claims to be running a clean campaign, yuk, yuk). Beware, future candidates for office, when you are considering hiring a political consultant-steer clear of this man who was disloyal, disgusting, and and downright wrong. We got better campaigning advice from John Upton, John Cefalu, Tom Davis, and various businessmen such as Al Moss, David Borges, Paul Bruso, and Dave Kurtzman.

Please vote on March 5, when the people of El Dorado County will choose their next Sheriff. This election will shape the very manner of law enforcement we will have in the County. Choose strong, sound leadership, strong ethics, a leader we can respect, choose “Lawman Larry” Hennick.
