Letter to the editor- Calstar makes Tahoe better

Leona Allen
South Lake Tahoe

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome the Calstar rescue helicopter to our community. Calstar (California Shock/Trauma Air Rescue) is now based at the Lake Tahoe Airport, which means that we no longer have to wait for an air ambulance to come up from Reno or Auburn before we get help in an emergency. For those of you who witnessed any of Calstar’s spectacular landings smack dab in the middle of U.S. Highway 50 this past week, you’ll know that emergency medical care has definitely taken a turn for the better for Tahoe.
