Letter to the editor- Coverage: It’s about money

To the editor-

I think the original idea was to protect the lake by reducing unfiltered runoff into the lake by limiting coverage of the property to 30 percent sounds reasonable, right? WRONG.

If you can afford to pay these various bureaucracies money, (fees) then you can exceed

The regulations, maybe the right word is EXTORT, Webster defines extort as the act

Or practice to obtain from a person by force or undue power, money or other property,

Sounds like this to me.

So I can build Lake front with thousands of feet of coverage if I can afford to pay these people, but if you want to put a small deck or patio in your back yard and you are on a limited Income, tough luck.

Sounds to me like the small property owners are doing all the protecting of the Lake.
