Letter to the editor- Good and bad at wreck scene

To the editor:

My wife recently was involved in a traffic accident. Someone going too fast couldn’t stop at a stop sign and went thru it and broadsided my wife’s car. Then they left the scene, saying that they were scared. It was such a traumatic incident for my wife and three kids. I sure was happy with the police dispatch “Cory,” she was kind understanding and helpful. The fire department arrived within minutes as did the ambulance and they couldn’t do enough to help. I was more than impressed with their professionalism and caring attitudes. The problem showed up when the patrol officer arrived. He was very rude and impolite. He even seemed irritated while taking care of the incident. I’m sorry that one officer has the ability to destroy the entire positive efforts of an entire group of people. I thank you all for your help in the time of need. Maybe the officer will turn around someday.
